Pardon me if this is an odd question but! I am very curious! How did you get the text beeps to work? It's been a hot minute since I've made a VN, and I could never figure that out
Soft Drizzle is a short, 64x64 resolution visual novel about friendship and rainy days.
Made in 7 days for LOWREZJAM 2020.
I had a lot of fun developing this game, I hope you enjoy it!
A whole playthrough should be 15 - 20 minutes long. Also: the game has some typos. Sorry. I wrote most of the screenplay during a long, coffee fueled night writing session and my mind was not in the right place. I will correct them soon, once I have some free time.
- Click to advance the text.
- Space to turn AUTO mode, in case you just want to sit back and just read without having to click.
- Click to select an option when prompted.
- Please bear in mind that the game doesn't save your progress.
I composed the music and drew the character sprites and UI, etc. The subway and rain sound effects were created by TheMSsoundeffects and ThunderSlav, respectively.
If you liked Soft Drizzle, there's a sequel available!

Haha, no problem. I have made two beep sounds for each character. Every time I print a letter I play one at random. That's it! I made the beep sounds using a NES soundfont in FL Studio. Does this answer your question? 🤔
I just played and captivated me right away, a beautiful pixel art, funny dialogues and everything well fitted in a 64x64 resolution. Congratulations ^^
Wonderful game! I enjoyed it thusly. Lovely soundtrack and plot too. The characters are funny and cute. Great job! :D
Thank you very, very much! I'm so happy you enjoyed it so much! Also thank you very much for the donation, it's much appreciated!
This game is delightgful! It definetely lives up to all the tags it has.
This game is really interesting and lovely! And the art is beautiful. By curiosity, did Fuyuko manage to have her super computer?
Haha, thank you! Yes, Fuyuko got the computer in the end. They ate paninis and then played some very scary FPSs (with the lights on).
This is a really sweet game, and I'm amazed you were able to create a visually interesting yet easy-to-read visual novel with such restrictions!
